WebRTC encode to VP9

Are there plans to support VP9 instead of h264? Because it will save a lot of traffic for viewers.

Better use AV1 instead.... VP9 is not very nice regarding processor power on some systems and AV1 takes even less bandwidth than VP9

SRS does not support VP9; however, it does support AV1 in WebRTC. We are planning to introduce AV1 support in RTMP. In fact, OBS already supports AV1 in WHIP. Additionally, because the updated, enhanced RTMP now supports AV1, SRS is also planning to support AV1 in RTMP. Furthermore, many other players, including mpegts.js, already support AV1 in RTMP.

If possible, you could use HEVC instead. SRS has already supported HEVC since version 6, and enhanced RTMP also supports HEVC. Additionally, Safari's WebRTC supports HEVC. As far as I know, Chromium is planning to support HEVC in WebRTC, so I believe HEVC is an even better solution for WebRTC.

Hello everybody. The story with RTMP AV1 is very cool. And I think everyone is really looking forward to this release. As this will be a very big start for the project.

Yep, I agree. Enhanced RTMP brought a lot of new changes, such as new codecs like HEVC/AV1/OPUS, new features like HDR and multiple streams, and new transport that is in future plan.
