Function inside template will fire whenever a data is changed?

Some context:

index.vue

<script>
export default {
    ...,
    data(){
        return { name: "" )
    }
}
</script>
<template>

    <h1>{{ Translate("Hello") }}</h1>
    <input v-model="name"></input>

</template>

translate.js

const Translate = (str) => {...}

So I found out that Translate will get called whenever name is changed.. Is this supposed to happened and is it possible to avoid? Because I'm trying to support multi-language in my app and Translate will get called in many places and I'm concerning performance.
