I've set up a blog and a few project documentation websites on GitHub Pages. Strangely enough, I'm encountering the same problem across all of them. Google appears to be indexing only a small portion of the pages. I've been asking myself the same question as @Zwyx. This means GitHub Pages hosted websites are not indexed and attract very little traffic. |

Hi,
My blog has been online for four months, and still barely shows up on Google search results*, because most of its content is not indexed by Google:
49 pages — most of the articles on the blog — are Discovered – currently not indexed:
Google has discovered all the pages, in parts thanks to the sitemap that I have provided multiple times and is read correctly:
According to Google, Discovered - currently not indexed means:
So my question is: does the fact that GitHub Pages hosts many websites mean that Google can potentially never crawls a particular site, because after having crawled hundreds of others sites it decides that GitHub had enough load and stops crawling?
*Examples:
Git Hash Miner: mine your commit hashes!
in Google, you'll find https://zwyx.dev/blog/git-hash-miner → okzwyx Multiple shared password stores with Git and pass
, nothing shows up, despite the page https://zwyx.dev/blog/shared-password-stores being on my blogBeta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
