this was my old github account I was not able to access once my macbook crashed but I have a new one I want to retain and delete the old one but need my repository codes before it is deleted please?

How can I prove it is really me without access?

No. Someone at github told me its impossible to get access to my account unless i have the recovery key or email address. So im thinking my best bet is to buy my old domain again, set up the email address again and try do a recovery. Hopefully the domain is not taken by someone else, its been a couple years.

You cannot access your account at all if you do not have email access or recovery codes. Github do not allow any other way of proving your are the owner of an account unfortunately.

This was told to me directly by support doing what you have said. Did you do what you said and have success?

I am in the same situation. I reached out to github support on 2nd of Jul 2024 and they responded me on 09th Jul 2024 and said that they can not help me with this situation. Best I could do is fork the public repos from the account and they know this solution is far from ideal.

This is not acceptable. Github should improve their support system. Right now their attitude is like we won't help you and you can't do anything about it. 😠😠😠
