yes after updating Mac OS Big Sur to 11.2 I was able to install it, after getting this error enter "which brew" in the terminal if it gives you the location of the brew (/opt/homebrew/bin/brew) that means it has installed regardless the error.

Type which brew in the terminal and it's shows you the location of brew! You're actually overwriting an existing install having a broken core tap. I was also stuck with this problem for more than 5 hours :)

Run these commands into your terminal

rm -fr $(brew --repo homebrew/core) # because you can't brew untap homebrew/core
brew tap homebrew/core

check for homebrew installation directory. then remove the whole directory and try installing again.
Mine was in \etc\homebrew on Mac M1 2020. Mac OS version 11.2.3. Homebrew version 3.1.3.

Just run sudo rm -fr \etc\homebrew to remove the whole homebrew directory and perform a clean installation.

Sadly, the other solutions didn't work.

On my Mac M1 2020 it was rm -rf /opt/homebrew (opt/ not etc/ directory in my case), just check both directories for the homebrew directory and delete it.

I had similar error due to network problems, this worked for me:

I restarted my terminal and input this command sudo rm -rf /opt/homebrew

or me first I uninstalled home-brew by using this command. /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/uninstall.sh)"

I found my remote.orgin.url got a wrong value (my repo url), so I updated it.
Now I git config -l, I get:

If it's at the global level, you want to delete that value just to be sure. I can't think of a good reason to force every repo on your system to use the same remote.

Your git installation seems very broken. You should fix the permissions of that folder to be owned by your user. sudo chown -R $(whoami) ~/.config should do that for you.

It looks like a network issue, yeah. Not sure why curl failed. I recommend trying again, and if it still didn't work then you can copy-paste the content of https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh to a file named install.sh and then run bash install.sh.

What does which head output?

I also recommend trying to run /bin/bash -cx "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install.sh)" (the -x adds error logs). This would show the specific command failing.
