Steps to reproduce:

  • Open MS word
  • Type a heading: control+alt+1 and type Hello and pressenter.
  • Insert a cross reference to the heading: alt, s, r, f. Choose a reference type of heading, and choose the above heading.
  • Arrow to the line containing the cross reference.

Actual behavior:

NvDA reports "link Hello"

Expected behavior:

NVDA should report something like "cross reference link hello"

Further details

For cross reference links, the UIA element's name is "cross reference" and the class name is "field". For normal links, the class name is empty and the name is the text of the link.
