Tag not targeted when page object is used with before hook

When I add the tag property when using the describe interface, tests are not getting targeted.
The tags work as expected with the describe interface when there are no before hooks in use. However, as soon as I use page objects with a before hook, whereby a page object needs to be assigned to a variable, the test isn't targeted with the tag.

When I run the test with the tag, it gives a generic error as if the tag wasn't found. While the same test executes if I run it specifying the file path

Has anyone experienced this before and would like to share a solution?

Thanks for having a look at this. I've actually resolved this by removing all the page assignments from the variable declarations. While the pages are only assigned to their variables in the before hooks.
