Make it possible to rename "Team folders" globally #3494
Comments
some organization also have an internal classification of groupfolders, e.g. :
In the example I have in mind, the first one is call "entity drive", and the second one is named "project drive". They implemented a customization so these two categories appear. IMHO, an interesting approach would be to create a list of category to classify groupfolders according business needs. These categories would then displayed in the left side bar. Downside is that it complexifies the groupfolder implementation... |
Unfortunately this is indeed complex and also brings translation and support issues. |
NB: categories would be at the hand of instance admins |
I'd vote against this since it is very much an edge case, this side-bar navigation entry is a category to get to all group folders / team folders the user has access too, so this only works if all group folders would logically fall into a category that can be reflected by a single name which is hardly the case. |
I can live with "Team" (instead of "Group") folders. 👍 |
How to use GitHub
Describe the solution you'd like
Instead of having a "Group folders" classic name, make it possible to have a more "organisation specific" name (or in other words, make it possible to give the root a name like any orther folder).
Ex. in a school : "School Folders (read only)"
Ex. in a company : "Company Documentation"
