A bit of a shameless plug here, but part of the reason that I started to jump more seriously into epidemiological modeling was because of the tool you all have developed.
I took it as a jumping off point for an expanded compartmental model with stochasticity and included different types of time varying mitigation strategies, and started putting together a proposal for collaboration around building a better epidemiological modeling toolkit here. I would have liked to contribute to this repo, but ended up moving to the python stack because of familiarity and better support for stochasticity and matrix algebra.
The model is currently living in a Jupyter notebook here. I'd appreciate any feedback or criticism, and am very open to collaborating here or on my end.
