Component Time port error

Hello,

I am attaching my componets to the linuxTime in my Topology file but for a few component it is throwing this error:
How come only few components throw this error and not others?

Your components don't have time port in componentAi.xml.

The error shown is telling you that it can't find the port you are trying to connect to in TopologyAppAi, in this case it's Time.

Yeah that was a dumb question. But why does some component compile fine even though they don't have the Time port. I came under an impression that there are hidden port(like Time).

The time port is added automatically only when Channels, Events, Command, or Parameters are added. It will compile fine if you don't use the Time port, or if you do not define those constructs. In this case you do not need to connect the Time port.

Do note: in FPP (v3.0.0) we are removing the automatic ports all together. That way you always know what ports you have....as everyone gets confused by this magic ports.

Yeah, that's one of the reason why I always use modeler = true. It really helps having all the port listed in conponentAi.xml while trying to connect them all in TopologyAi.xml. just another source of sanity checks.
