Using Davmail to reveal mail settings? #331
Comments
Thanks for your feedback, "Autoconfig" in mail client is not based on any magic protocol, it's just a list of configurations by domain names. As each instance of DavMail is local or deployed in server mode for a specific context I don't see how we could cover this request. Regards, |
Hello. Thank you for the reply. I apologize I was perhaps unclear and will try to re-phrase: Once the OWA connection has been made, are the IMAP and SMTP information Davmail is using to connect to OWA recorded in the log files or settings file(s)? Thank you. |
Hello.
Thank you for creating this software - it works flawlessly for me.
I have a situation where I need to log into an OWA instance to check email. No information regarding the back-end is available. The goal is to use an IMAP email client (such as Outlook ironically) to connect to the backend of the OWA and use that software instead of the web-interface. Right now I'm using Davmail as an intermediate to accomplish this. I have Davmail installed and pointing to the OWA URL, and then I added an IMAP account in Outlook pointing to Davmail. It does work but it seems sort of onerous and long-winded.
Is there a way for Davmail to show what are the IMAP and SMTP settings so Outlook or other clients connect directly, if possible? Outlook itself was unable to determine how to connect when I tried.
I apologize if this question is supposed to be elsewhere - I couldn't find the correct forum to post so I thought perhaps to try here. Thank you.
