Awesome - Contribution Guidelines

A curated list of awesome programs for browsing the web.

Desktop (GUI)

  • Brave - focus on privacy and native adblocking, by former Mozilla engineers
  • Falkon (formerly QupZilla) - Qt-based browser, part of KDE
  • Firefox Developer Edition - Firefox edition with extra features for web developers
  • LibreWolf - customized Firefox with many privacy enhancements
  • Pale Moon - forked from old Firefox (pre-WebExtensions), has its own extension store
  • SeaMonkey - continuation of Mozilla Internet Suite
  • Tor Browser - official/recommended Tor browser, based on Firefox
  • Ungoogled Chromium - open source version of Google Chrome, with Google integration removed
  • uzbl - a browser that adheres to the Unix philosophy
  • WaterFox Classic - fork of Firefox 56 with privacy and performance enhancements

Keyboard based

  • vieb - vi-style keys, ad-blocker with cosmetic element hiding
  • qutebrowser - keyboard driven (like Vimium) browser developed in Python

Desktop (terminal)

  • Browsh - terminal browser, intended as a modern replacement for Lynx
  • felinks - active fork of ELinks
  • Links - Lynx-like browser with graphics support
  • Lynx - classic terminal browser
  • w3m - text based browser with vim-like keys and image support
