Slow auto-scroll with iframes and large payloads

Large payloads are causing slow performance during auto-scrolling.

This was identified in #407 (comment).

An opt-out was provided in #443 to disable auto-scrolling if the user encounters issues, but a long-term fix will likely require rebuilding the underlying dnd library (in progress) as the fork has become unmanageable.
