Summary

As stated by @wiggin77 in this comment notifications by the notification bot will only work if each (non-creator) person involved into a card has clicked "Follow" or has been mentioned manually.

From our point of view:
We have multiple cards that travel along a process of reviews etc. and need to be passed between members of the team.
Therefor we use the Type: "Multiple Persons" and Type: "Person".

Now it seems that people added to this field are not auto subscribed to the card and do not receive notifications until we mention those people in the comments or they subscribe themselves.

There should be a flag for "auto subscribe" for those to field types, so that we can enable automatic notifications for "traveling" cards, which we assign to other people.

How important this is to me and why

Without notifications the boards are not maintained by the people and tasks will sit around for ages until the person who is responsible remembers to have a look at the boards and filter to cards assigned to them.

Importance: High

Use cases:

  1. Chained of task states that are passed between people
  2. Centrally managed notifications on assigned people

Additional context/similar features

Any other Kanban software does automatically follow new assigned persons afaik.
