Looking for a maintainer

Hey all -

I'm sure you can tell by my lack of contributions lately I don't have time to maintain this repo and everything else I'm involved in. I think this is still a very good auth layer, though real-world usage has definitely suggested some improvements. Just scan the discussions and you'll see.

I'm looking for someone to take over the maintenance of this repo. Someone who is invested in its usage and wants to see it improve. Is that you? Hit me up.

I think this is a good place to mention as well: a lot of the experience from this library has gone into work on Shield. Myth:Auth is still a viable choice (I have it in one production instance) but Shield has a more flexible approach and a cleaner start that might be appealing to people who end up here.

I waited for it to come. It's a nice library and, sadly, it probably won't be maintained anymore. I use it in production and it works without problems. I already saw that there is also another library Shield. What we who are using it in production can do now ? Switch to Shield and rewrite code to adopt it in our apps ? Or leave it as it is if there will be no new maintainer ? Will the shield continue to develop or will it suffer the same fate?

This library has a fair amount of community involvement - I expect it will live on, at least for a while yet.

I will let Lonnie have his say, but in my opinion this is a good transition. Myth:Auth was basically a prototype for CodeIgniter 4 packages, and we've all learned a lot (and the framework has changed a lot) since it's initial release. Since then there have been a number of things about this package that couldn't be changed due to backwards-compatibility. Shield was an opportunity for a fresh start.

I'm straddling these packages. Eventually I plan to transition my production app to Shield, and when I do I will include transition docs (and maybe even database translation scripts, we'll see). In the meantime I have a User interfaces library that removes some of the work - you are welcome to check it out:
