What happened?

I set an event by mistake as "Repeat: Always - Everyday".
If I open the first occurrence again and try to change to "Repeat: Never" and click the "Finish (Save?)" button, nothing happens. If I choose another "Repeat" options, I am asked whether it should apply to all events or ... But whatever the choice, nothing happens.
The only way to deal with this issue is to remove the original event, select remove all occurrences, and create the event again.

Hmm actually 2 things:

  1. The behavior described above happens only inside gnome-agenda, which actually gets updated in this regard only when closed and restarted (when I would expect validating the modification in the event form to be enough).
  2. So it is more likely to be a bug with gnome-agenda than the applet I presume. However I have been encountering some refresh issues with the applet which testing further this point: after restart of gnome agenda, it was updated there but was not disappearing from the applet calendar. I had to visit the latter at next month and come back to current month to have it properly synced. That's a bit of a different issue I believe...

All code for events is identical to the original calendar@cinnamon. I'll have to check whether there are some upstream fixes that I have failed to apply and could be responsible, otherwise please report bugs with events alway to https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues

Well noted, thanks.
After further research, I guess this is mostly due to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-calendar/-/issues/399
