This problem cannot be resolved using published command-line solutions. Command line sudo update or install fail with an exception that says
"apt-get: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.26' not found (required by /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libapt-pkg.so.6.0)"
Is this a case where Linux has to be reinstalled? There are so many posts about this problem going back 6 years and yet there dos not seem to be a tool or a consistent method that works?
Any help appreciated
