Hey lars,

Fox toolkit still makes releases:

http://www.fox-toolkit.org/

Current dev version is 1.7.85.

I assume fxruby supports only the stable version:

1.6.58 # right now

Could the main README clarify this though? In particular if the dev version may be supportable or so. This may help folks try out changes before they eventually come into a new stable release - in a few decades or so. :D

Yes, only libfox-1.6.x is supported right now. There is an old branch for 1.7.x but it wasn't touched since 15 years. I didn't check how much work it is to update FXRuby to 1.7.x.

I would have more enthusiasm to support the new version, if it's shipped in Debian or Ubuntu. But this will probably not happen before it's stable.
