TW and TW-TUI let the user to extend it using UDAs and custom filters. By saving filters as contexts, or by setting non-visible UDAs for quick filtering, one can work with 'views' as in a MVC application. This gives the user virtually infinite features with minimal coding effort.
Right now the user can configure certain global colors depending on predefined values (e.g. +next tag, scheduling, dependencies, due dates...). However, these are predefined (few fields are allowed) and precomputed (the state is computed on runtime but the color and field cannot be changed on runtime).
In addition, TW-TUI acts a as a frontend so for experienced users, complex functionalities could be built using only tw UDAs and filters, but this cannot be translated into different colors in the TW-TUI.
