I am a researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and I have used Whitebox tools extensively in my research over recent years. The speed and efficiency are just incredible. I have noticed that some tools take full advantage of all of my processing cores but I can not find any documentation on which tools are parallelized. Is there a list of tools that operate in parallel across multiple processor cores?

Hi William,
I'm sorry that I'm only noticing this now. I'm more than a little late on the reply! Anyhow, to answer your question, no sadly I don't have anything in the tool documentation that indicates which tools are parallelized. You'd need to look at the source code to figure out whether a tool has parallel components or not. As a hint, any tool that has:

use std::sync::mpsc;
use std::sync::Arc;
use std::thread;

Contains some part that is parallelized. It's tricky to document because when I say that a tool is parallelized, it may be that the whole operation is conducted in parallel, or that only parts of it are. In general, when I write the tools, I try to parallelize anything that can readily be, unless there is a good rationale for not doing so.
