How can I revert all changes #5
Comments
upgrade in-place or restoring from System Restore. |
system restore isn't working. Like i have it turned on but I cant see the option as the search is disabled |
the windows defender remover was awsome, so i tried this one but unfortunately, the default script in the exe file messes up windows. i tried it on virtual machine and it doesnt boot |
|
i have same problem, the restoration not work :/ |
I fixed most of the issue by doing a quick windows 10 reinstall, I reinstalled it without removing my files. Basically, a reset. |
bro pls help i raised new issue |
fallen into exactly the same trap |
It's a scam worse than virus tbh |
I think lot of ppl did, I think in the end author will make the description and app more clear or make this private as lot he will have tun of isssues like this pop up, or maybe he will enjoy it as a troll? BTW I highly doubt he actually run this as a whole on his own PC. |

@ionuttbara please don't make it private. I just want to say Thank You! (And didn't want to start a new issue for it) It should be a general understanding that the app and the tweaks are provided as-is. It does require some experience to go through the source and understand the implications. I did run the app without editing and then reverted some of the changes that it made with ease. Base system Tiny11 23H2. Reverted changes - re-registered classes for Windows.Capture (as I use it for VR) and some cosmetics. The system works at ultra low latency and it's an extremely pleasant experience. Note to other users - you need to know in-depth the CLSIDs/registry understand differences between say CurrentControlSet and ControlSet001/002/etc. As many of you like windows defender remover or edge remover you still should READ and UNDERSTAND what it does. Including why it may make system unmaintainable in some environments. Melody brings it to next level, or even two levels above. |
okay but how do I reverse the changes, the search bar is not there in the start menu, even my reset option is not working saying that the recovery environment could not be found |
Restoring from full image backup usually helps. I keep ntfs-3g image of the windows install for that. I make a quick image before updating to the next melody version as well. Sadly Windows registry isn't something you can straightforward "revert" even with a restore point it will cause issues. That is entirely Microsoft's mess. To revert some of the changes I used a VM with a clean install and restored the classes and CLSIDs I needed for my tasks. |
Can you contact me on discord how you do it? - hungryares |
There are dangerous tweaks in remove/disable sections. I had lost eg. Adv. File Sharing, Administrative Tools, Second Logon on LANed PC, also System Restore is disabled. One of ways to re-enabled System Restore is to do step 2 and 3: https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-fix-system-restore-is-disabled-by-your-system-administrator/ |
I tried this to solve a problem and it did not work and I want to revert all changes. I was planning to use a restore point but it does not work, OS reset also does not work nor I can use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.
