Is it possible to add a setting so we can select which tab the app opens to?

I honestly don't give 2 shits about the Home tab, and would much rather it open to the Bookmarks tab by default.
If this is possible, then GREAT!
If not, then sadge :(

Thanks for the suggestion.
Before I add yet another setting (which I'm trying to be careful with so the settings list doesn't grow too much) have you considered turning off what you don't want in the home?
You can go to Settings, Miscellaneous, Edit home screen, and disable anything you're not interested in.

I would end up disabling everything and still going to the bookmarks tab LOL

Well, there's a couple of things to unpack here.

  • First, is the number of settings. Most people do not want the Trending videos which are mostly trash, but some do use the Subscriptions. I do want to keep number of settings small, unless there's something that actually compromises the experience. If you don't want to see the home content, just disable all of the items, and when you open Playlet, it's two clicks away to be at the bookmarks.
  • Next is about profiles Multiple profiles #267. I intend to support multiple profiles, but keep the settings shared between them. This is because Roku has very limited amount of local storage (a ridiculous 32K bytes, compressed). So if one profile hides the home menu, another profile might get be confused on why the home menu is not there.
  • The Continue watching #236 feature will be per profile, and available in the home page, so similar to the previous point, confusing if the home is missing for someone.

If there's demand or more reasons on why this settings is necessary, we can talk more about it, but right now I think there's enough reasons to not do this yet.
