When I click a video embedded in a toot, I get the following errors:

GStreamer element appsink not found. Please install it
GStreamer element autoaudiosink not found. Please install it
(WebKitWebProcess:16300): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: 06:28:32.395: invalid (NULL) pointer instance
(WebKitWebProcess:16300): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 06:28:32.396: g_signal_connect_data: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed

Shortly thereafter Fedistar freezes. I am using fedistar_1.7.1_amd64.AppImage.

System specs:

(Running in a QEmu virtual machine)
Linux devuan 6.1.0-13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.55-1 (2023-09-29) x86_64 GNU/Linux`
system Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996)
processor QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+
6000MiB memory
7 GiB free disk space

If you need more information please let me know.

If you install Fedistar from .deb package, can you open the video?

I'll download the file later and get back to you, though I was hoping not to install anything yet as I have no idea if I'll keep using the Fediverse longterm.

So it works when installing the .deb using the installed package, meanwhile the appimage still has the issue.

Hmm, that means it is a bug of appimage.

So now the .deb package is messing up...I get the following errors and after about 5 videos it becomes unresponsive.

libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate
AL lib: (EE) UpdateDeviceParams: Failed to set 44100hz, got 48000hz instead
