When VPN mode is not activated, that is, the application is just running in the background, a lot of battery is spent. The goodness mode is on, but only when charging, so it's not clear why charging is spent so quickly.

It may be that the goodness/kindness mode is not being properly disabled. This is a known issue we are looking at. For now, manually disable kindness mode to resolve the issue.

I have the same problem, and disabling kindness mode didn't changed anything.

At my side, orbot consumes too much battery even with kindness mode disabled.

IPtProxy should be updated to latest version so that poll interval is exposed and then it can be set to the recommended value of 2min, instead of what the the default poll interval is now (5 seconds, I think). That should help a lot with battery consumption when kindness mode is enabled.
