"Error loading data" upon registration, or when trying to join rooms, or when opening my profile

Describe the bug
Hello, I'm receiving the following error upon registration: "Error loading data".
I'm on Android 10 (I don't have access to an iOS device).

To Reproduce
This happens at the registration screen (the one you see the first time you login after verification).
Update: this also happens at a later stage (see next comment).

Expected behavior
Successful registration.

Update: somehow, after several tries with different names/usernames, I managed to register my account.

Now I see what I think is the list of public rooms, but that's all I can do.

If I tap on a room, again the same error pops up "Error loading data", and nothing happens.

Same thing if I tap on my profile icon: all I see is a screen with the "Error loading data" and a Retry button.

"Error loading data" occurs when the username is taken.
