Saying "it just changes a couple of bits in Editor.exe" is the definition of what a crack does. You're altering their proprietary software to get around an intentional restriction of theirs and it goes against Unity ToS.

Not that this is really needed anymore, they made the dark theme free ages ago. But probably not good to distribute this or recommend people to use it if they want to remain ToS compliant.

This project is currently useless. After version 2021, it became possible to use the dark theme in Unity, even with a free license. Nobody uses this solution today because older versions of Unity are not as popular and out of supported (if not LTS).
