The Node SDK includes support for uploading image files via GoogleAiFileManager. It would be great to provide and document the equivalent functionality in this library.

FYI I have a basic version of upload working in Ruby. Are you interested in having it merged here?

Great Feature request!

AFAIU the new Gemini AI Studio API allows you to upload images to "park them" for use with multimodal models like.
In Vertex this is less useful because:

  1. You dont have this upload service
  2. You can easily lean (and you're supposed to) onto GCS.
