Google Top Shot on mobile: black screen for a small time on first load of the video

Description

When doing a long press to launch the video of a Google Top Shot, there is a black screen for a small amount of time while transitioning from the photo to the video.
It only happens the first time, if I stay on the same photo and try again to long press I get no black screen.

This seems unrelated to the download of the image since it happens again if I slide to another image and go back to the same image.

Can confirm that the behavior is reproducible on Live Photos as well, so it likely has something to do with the video player.
