I'm trying to add "> " at the beginning of a line, to indicate that what is being included in the post is a quote from what is being linked to. And it keeps getting dropped.

It's inconsistent. On my next post I was able to include that symbol.

Using firefox on my PC. Cut and paste from a web page most commonly.

maybe > is not the "greater than" ascii character, can you provide the link to the web page? or just paste the > symbol and inspect it using dev tools, it should be > or > html entity:

Select the char using the arrow, then Edit as HTML using right mouse click on the paragraph (<p>></p>:

Should be something like this:

< p > and < /p > appears to be there, and I'm not sure how to get rid of them.
Spaces added here.

I guess it's not a bug?
