Smoother transition from greeter to desktop #100

Currently the greeter shows the wallpaper, everything goes black, and then the desktop wallpaper is shown. It would be better if the wallpaper were shown throughout.

Apparently lightdm-gtk-greeter shows the wallpaper until the desktop is fully loaded.

On my desktop pc the display actually shuts down for a second before displaying the greeter.
Do you have the same behaviour or is the screen merely black ?

Let me know if there is anything I can help with, just switched from Ubuntu to ElementaryOS and loved it, but this black screen appearing for about 10 seconds after unlocking is affecting my workflow.
