What Happened?

While transferring files from my external hard drive to the internal storage of my laptop, I tried opening a file from the external hard drive, outside the scope of the copy.
The screen froze completely and the external hard drive got messed up.
After hard powering off and starting the laptop on again, the external hard drive was unable to be mount.
I had to use a Windows machine to restore it.
It happened twice

Steps to Reproduce

  • Copy a bunch of files from external drive to internal drive
  • Open a file of the external drive

Expected Behavior

  • The file transfer might get a little slow but will carry on until finished
  • The OS does not crash

OS Version

7.x (Horus)

Software Version

Older release (I have not run all updates)

Was the external drive simultaneously accessed from e.g. the same Linux machine or e.g. a Windows machine?
