What Happened?

I am unable to transfer files to and from my Samsung devices with Elementary OS.
"SAMSUNG Android" appears under Storage in files, it even reports the total and free GB of storage on the phone.
I have another PC with Elementary installed, and the same behaviour.
I have a Samsung Tablet, and the same behaviour occurs.
I've tested the same machines running Elementary with iOS 17 devices and Android 11 devices and they work fine.
So I don't know if this is specific to Samsung or Android 13.

Steps to Reproduce

Connect Samsung phone, it asks to allow PC to access files.
Device appears under Storage
Select Allow on phone
Eject icon appears beside "SAMSUNG Android" under storage in files
However, the main panel reports "This Folder is Empty"
Location bar reports "mtp://SAMSUNG_SAMSUNG_Android_XXXX"

Expected Behavior

The files on the Samsung phone should appear as they do when connected to Windows 10 machine. Connected to a Windows machine, all files are listed and transfers works normally.

I've tried an Android 11 device and iPhone iOS 17 with Elementary OS and they work fine.

7.x (Horus)

Just tried this with a Samsung Galaxy A14 with Android 13 and had no trouble connecting with a USB cable and transferring a file onto the phone (Files v6.5.2) after allowing access to the phones data. You may have to fresh the view to see changes though (press F5 or the Refresh button).

Its a quite new phone with default security settings.

Update: I notice there is an outstanding software update for the phone - I'll install and retest.
