background excecution status

Hello.

I am excecuting a long process. I get a timeout error of for going over 10s. I have thought of creating a file in Drive that has a log printing the process status and see wether it ended or if there was an error. Is there another simple way of see the status and check if the process is still running or the way I am thinking is the only option available? Why is there a 10s limit to process? Is that a cap? My script would take hours, does it mean that deta is not for long-processing projects?

I answer myself. After reading more, I found the answer in FAQ. In this case, it is not feasible for the project that I had. It is a shame. I hope it is helpful for someone else.
