What happened?

Bug
When the cursor is already on client (Ubuntu 18.04),

  1. Pressing backtick(`) key on server (macOS version 2.4.0), ` (or ~) does not show on client screen.
  2. Double tapping (right click) only show menu on server screen.

However, macOS 2.3.4 work.

Same issue, can't type the ` which is quite annoying for markdown... Everything else is working great, but this is really a big issue and makes Barrier unusable for me.

Either @vladimirlagunov's PR #1541 or my newer #1711 will fix this. I "released" a binary for m1 Macs running Monterey, downloadable here in the meantime. You'll probably have to codesign it yourself (see release).

This is also reported as #1837, #1531. Note that there are still two PRs that will fix this (see comment from Jul 6).

Windows 10 <> Windows 10
Backticks (amongst other to me less important characters) not working is a serious problem, and I didn't find a solution having tried for quite a while via hotkeys, key sequences, third party software. I'm not talking about obscure stuff.

According to description: "Barrier is known to work on (..)". Alas, it does not.
"Q: Are there any other significant limitations with the current version of Barrier?" does not indicate basic characters can't be typed.

I was setting up MBP M2 with Barrier and faced this issue so I bought a Synergy license but no luck. Now I'm confused if I messed up something in OS settings :/

In my case CMD + backtick (used to switch between same app instances) doesn't work but backtick itself works fine.

Here's my setup
Windows 11 (Server) with keyboard and mouse
MBP Intel (Barrier Client) - ✅ CMD + Backtick and everything works fine
MBP M2 Max (Barrier Client) ❌ CMD + Backtick doesn't work but backtick works.

Hopefully, Synergy Customer Support would help me

Please note there is a MacOS build with @dgentry's fix available as an Azure pipeline published artifact.
