New multi photo upload not functional in Firefox

Uploading an image with multi image uploader is not functional.

Dragging one or multiple images into the grey box opens those images in the browser with the local path. Upload is not happening. It is noticeable that the string Drop files here to upload is not shown in Firefox. It is shown in a chromium browser and upload works fine there. So the issue seems to be specific to Firefox.

Switching to the old uploader, selecting an image and uploading does not show any confirmation but works and the image is uploaded. So that can be used as a workaround for Firefox users.
