Hello,

While reviewing the 'Mentee selection process' section at the https://github.com/cncf/mentoring/blob/main/programs/lfx-mentorship/README.md#program-guidelines I noticed that the terms 'cover letters' and 'Statement of Purpose' are used interchangeably. This could potentially lead to confusion for prospective mentees.

It would be helpful to clearly define these terms and differentiate between them.

  • For instance, if 'cover letters' and 'Statement of Purpose' are indeed the same in this context, it would be beneficial to stick to one term for consistency.
  • If they are different, providing a brief description of each would be useful.

Thank you for considering this issue. I believe that this clarification will make the application process smoother and more understandable for future mentees.
