[opentelemetry] Evaluate use cases for eBPF

Context

As of now (12/2024) it seems like most components using eBPF in OpenTelemetry are still in a early stage. With this issue we want to keep track of the changes and re-evaluate where necessary if and how we can leverage eBPF in our landscape.

The following components can to be evaluated:

• https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-network
• https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-ebpf-profiler

As of now, the https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-network can collect telemetry data (mainly metrics) from three sources:

• kernel events
• k8s events
• cloud events

But k8s events are already retrieved via the k8sevents-receiver and cloud events are only supported for GCP and AWS
