Priority

(Medium) I'm annoyed but I'll live

Is your feature request related to a problem?

For troubleshooting virtualisation issues we need some logs from hypervisor and guests.

libvirt logging
Knowledge Base Debug Logs
libvirt Audit Logs

Additional context.

  • Check systemd journal or /var/log/libvirt/libvirtd.log depending on the configuration. See libvirt logging for details.
  • Check guest/domain logs /var/log/libvirt/qemu/$dom.log (Or substitute qemu with whatever hypervisor you are using.)
  • Check /var/log/audit/audit.log
  • Store hypervisor, guest and audit logs separately.

We can use systemd journal logs and don't libvirt logging, this works already in with OpenTelemetry Logs in KVM

We know configured log collection for journald, containerd, and files for /var/log/openvswitch/.log and /var/log/libfirt/qemu.log and k8sevents logs. #511
