Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to configure for in-app messages how much time it will be displayed (probably can also apply to banners)

you can use the time range in the campaign settings, you can set how much time the campaign will be available, also you can set when the campaign should not appear again with the hidden constraints, like, the banner will disappear on click, or on the first display.

I am not sure if it is the same I mean, what I would like to do is, so display a msg/banner using current rules, but the message will disappear after N seconds even if it is not clicked.

A basic usage will be to show the message "we are here to help, click to chat" to every visitor for 10 seconds

where will be that message? click where to chat?

Not sure if I want to implement this feature. For me does not make sense to hide messages without knowing if the users saw them or not.

I would be more inclined on trigger things that appear after an X amount of time though.

I think both, time-in and time-out features can be used and combined for great flexibility :)
