Mario Kart 8 broken graphic packs in 2.0-74 #1155
Comments
issue should have gone to https://github.com/cemu-project/cemu_graphic_packs/issues |
Toggeling packs at runtime has been known to be (partially) broken for a while. But it also seems that there is an additional problem with the pack compatibility itself. Thanks for the detailed bug report.
Graphic packs should behave in 2.0+ as they did in 1.26.2f, so this seems like a bug on Cemu's side |
The same happens with fast racing neo |
Current Behavior
Mario Kart 8 graphic packs (tested with No HUD and Contrasty) either do not function or function incorrectly on Cemu 2.0-74, while functioning as intended on 1.26.2f.
Expected Behavior
The No HUD graphic pack is supposed to disable most (if not all) HUD on the screen. When used on the title screen,
the screen becomes muddied. When used in-game,
the HUD is removed as intended. These are both examples of it functioning correctly, and all four of these screenshots were taken in Cemu 1.26.2f.
When toggled on in the same manner in Cemu 2.0-74, however...
nothing happens in either situation (No HUD was toggled on after taking the first screenshot, then back off until the fourth was taken). Contrasty was also switched on here and the display did not change among any of the presets.
The game was booted again, this time with No HUD enabled pre-launch instead of being toggled partway through, and it had these effects on the menus:
Upon getting into a race...
No HUD is technically doing its job now; one just has to march on through all of the broken menus first to get into the actual game, which is not the intended design (or wasn't initially, at least).
Steps to Reproduce
Boot up Mario Kart 8 in either 1.26.2f or 2.0-74 and try to toggle on the No HUD and/or Contrasty graphic packs, as I did in-between the first eight screenshots above.
