Hi there,

I noticed that the estimated IBUs in Biermacht is off from the IBUs I have in 2 programs on my pc. I have a hop that has 7% alpha acid and 4% beta acid in it. With 30.9g, the IBU in beersmith 2 is 21.8 IBUs, in another program I have it's even 24.4 IBUs. In Biermacht, it is only 12.91 IBUs. Which IBU estimation was used and is it possible to add more authors (Tinseth, Ragar, Garetz, Daniels, Mosher, Noonan)?

I miss a converter between Plato/sg/brix and conversion of other commonly used units.
EBC as color indicator would also be a nice feature, but I saw that was already reported. For EBC, also multiple authors are used (Moray, Daniels, Mosher), would be nice if you can adjust the author as well.

A gravity adjusting calculator would be nice to have (other calcutions are for example included in brewzor pro, would be nice if some could be incorporated in Biermacht).

Thanks
D.

I can't speak for the biermacht formulas specifically but none of the ibu
formulas are an exact science. Theres a ton of variables not taken into
account, hop storage, pelletization, kettle size, boil off rate, wind
speed, boil ph, and utilization diminishing returns as the ibu increases it
gets harder to reach high ibus. This isn't really accounted for well, so
pretty much anything above 75~ ibu is lower than listed.

My guess is biermacht is using either a variant of tinseth by default or
one of the opposing formulas (rager or Morey).

even estimating IBUs doesn't seem to be exact science, it is a lot
different in the Biermacht app. A mistake in the formula in the app?

Oh yes, see above. I was to late to adjust. Would be nice to know which author was used. :)
