Currently the charm restarts on each configuration change, such as:

  • TLS relation
  • Opensearch relation
  • kibanaerver password change
  • manual action log_level change.

Given that

  • the application is very quick to restart
  • no more than 2 (HTTP) or 3 (HTTPS) of these may happen at startup

we choose rather to allow for restarts than increasing complexity on reconcile().

In case the number of restarts may grow significantly higher, we may want to reconsider this decision.
