Default color not working

I have been trying to set a default value for the colorpicker in all ways I could think of but did not manage to get it to stick...
I used default=#123123 as well as rgb and tried to set the value. Inline and in app.js
Then I renamed all default variables and mentions into defaultValue to ensure it is not a protected name but that did not help either...
After two days on this issue I am giving up and must assume there is just something not working with setting a default color.

Using ng-model to set the value works by the way :)
