If we could get behavioral outcomes, that would be fine.

Brainstorm 1: After the recontact ask people if they'd like to volunteer for a new study involving the use of a smart phone app, gps, etc.. Then, using code like the mappiness application, make an app (?iphone only?) that would ping them at random to ask them a question, record their GPS location, and allow them to see their answers on a map.

What we get: We can get a random sample of their locations which we could use to validate/understand their hand drawn maps. We could also ask "Are you with people like you?" "Do you feel safe?" [Or merely "happy" which, if yes, probably includes "safe" and "not threatened"] So we get a an attitudinal outcome but it is more fine grained and associated with geography in a fine grained manner, too.

Brainstorm 2: Give people portable GPS devices that would record their movements for X days. This is more about validating the map.
