Easy to customize and to get started with your own Gatsby site

Is it really easy? Im having challenges. Your Hero.js component has many imports/ dependencies. If I want to change anything, I need to shadow the entire project (duplicate your entire project into the src folder?), because it is a theme?

Is it because your project is currently not suited to be a theme, or am I just totally incompetent at Gatsby?

What was the motivation in moving from starter to theme?
