Adding DOCTYPE line in an XML stream

Is there a way to add the DOCTYPE line in an XML stream ?

I'm using BeanIO 2.1, and I manage to generate this XML:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<note>
...
</note>

I would like this to be generated instead:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE note SYSTEM "Note.dtd">
<note>
...
</note>
