In local development, cold start deeplinking from the showcase doesn't send messages (so you will be hung on the Connection screen) until after you briefly tab back to the mobile browser (eg. Safari). This doesn't seem to happen in release builds. This was found thanks to some slick detective work by @jleach

This could be something to do with the showcase or with our metro setup, needs investigation.
