Can you describe what exactly fails? Pacct has been disabled in the Debian package since forever, so even if the SCL was there, it wouldn't work.

With the default Debian config, 3.6.1 runs just fine here.

The current master is fine. Unfortunately I have tried with a previous version. (didn't notice you pushed patches after I packaged syslog-ng in OBS).
