Error with httpx

I have seen this before, but I can't recall how I resolved the issue. I have encountered this problem again, so I am posting it here. The error is: httpx.LocalProtocolError: Illegal header value b'Bearer '

Can anyone think of a potential explanation for this problem, and perhaps how it should be resolved? (cc: @patrick91 @marcoacierno)

As a workaround, I disabled the "Append GitHub Contributor" feature for the repo in question, and now I'm looking at a completely different and presumably unrelated error 😖
