When using auto-complete within a repl buffer, sometimes it will add several extra newlines unexpectedly when entering a command/completing a command. I've been able to reproduce using ac-cider.
There is an issue already submitted to ac-cider regarding this, but I can't seem to find anything reported here. clojure-emacs/ac-cider#28
Supposedly the same error also happens when using ac-slime (I have not tried this myself), so it does seem to be a problem with auto-complete itself.
